My lab bitch was due to pup yesterday (Friday) but as yet is showing no signs apart from being a bit restless the past two days - is it normal for them to be late?
Her last litter 2 yrs ago were a day early.
Definitely have the right dates so there is no question over that
She was mated late in her season, would this have any effect?
Thanks

I was just about to go to bed so my brain isn't at its brightest, but I presume you mean you have the right dates counted from when she was mated. Dogs can be a little tricky at that, so that the eggs isn't fertilized on the day of the mating. Unless there's "bad" discharge (maybe so called Mucopurulent?) or the bitch is uncomfortable, I would probably firstly just check her temperature. There's some "curve" that most bitches follows that either goes up and then down or the other way around, some time before whelping.

I maybe would give her some extra Calcium (fish-oil is supposed to make the body absorb the Calcium better) to see if it makes things begin to happen. Otherwise there's a lot of things that can go wrong, so I would probably contact a vet to be more on the safe side.

Good luck.

Her temperature should drop 24-48 hours before whelping.

As Flp says, if she is not in distress I wouldn't worry too much. Perhaps give your vet a call. And 63 days is only a guideline, they can go to 72 days.
