so are us horsey people the bitchiest people on the planet?? i for one am not that bitchy as what i say behind ur back i tend to say to ur face aswell! upfront and honest, but some yards do get quite nasty!! just wondered (passing the time...yawn!)
 
yes ALL yards are bitchy ... why is that ?? i just dont know ... i tend to keep myself to myself .. and never hang around in peoples tack rooms ... xx
 
Now this isn't meant in a nasty way at all, but Gay horsey men are usually the worst!!

I think it's a fact of life, not just unique to the horsey set....and if we're honest we've all probable had a pop about some one else

Our yard was never bitchy but over the last few months mor and more new people have come and it fels very clicky now, one person is even talking about leaving as sick of the bitchiness. ho hum, takes the enjoyment out of it.

All I want to do is get on, be left in peace and mind my own business.

The horseworld does seem to be one of the bitchiest places!
 
i think everyone is struggling for status in the horsey world .. who knows more ? who rides better ? whos crap ? and who cant ride .. lol ... silly really coz you`d think we would all get on as we all have 1 thing in common .. horses !!

I don't think it's just yards.....it happens everywhere there are a group of people.

Youth Clubs, Schools, Pony Clubs, Uni's everywhere.
this year I've gone to a lot of "fun" dog shows & the backbiting there is rife.
 
I don't think the horse world is any worse than any other. It does contain an element of women (mostly) with too much time on their hands who like to spend it gossiping or stirring..but the worlds of hairdressing, ice skating or the local nightclub (random choices) are probably just as cutting. Maybe it is because we are trying to engage with animals, and do our best for them, that we are just a bit more vulnerable to the comments.

No worse than the school playground IMO
 
im the only lad on my yard out of like 30 odd people! i wudnt say i was the worst but i am a culprit!! i think its a bit of jealousy abit of i dont like that person much. i suppose i was like it at school as well...hangin around the girls!! one day i will have the pee slapped out of me but i cant help havin a gossip a cup of tea and a ciggie!!
 
I have to say the yard I am at now is not really bitchy at all. Everyone will chip in and help and there is no backstabbing to my knowledge.

There are nosey people of course, the ones who they think know best about what you do with your horse, want to know how much you paid for it etc.. and the like.

Best thing to do it rise above it!

yes! competition certainly brings out the worst in ya!! im always mumbling about something or someone ata show! theres a girl at me local show who i really dont get on with, but she's below me cus... STOP! see uv got me at it again! lol
 
I think if you follow these rules you will never have a problem
1. Never give or take advice from anyone
2. Get on with your own horses and dont consern yourself with any one else
3.Dont listen to any gossip, dont gossip about anyone
4.Never borrow or lend anything from or to anyone.
I find if you are polite and pleasant just exchange a good morning etc and stick to the above it makes for an easy life. I may get a reputation for been a bit of a loner but better that than get involved in all that bitcheness, the time spent with my horses is important and I would not spoil my enjoyment of it by getting involved with these folk that in my way of thinking are a waste of time.
As to why they exsist at all I just dont know but I meet up with friends that are not on my yard and they have the same problems I think its a shame.
 
even in French & Swiss yards it's the same with those eventual behind the back bitchy comments about all and sundry.
We keep our horses in a humble field, not at a yard, so no bitching for us
