Ok so i have a re trained ex racer, i put him in a fulmer french link when i had him, the reason for this is that i had no steering

straight line at 100mph was not a problem.

Went to our first dressage test and had a nasty woman slatted me over my bit, that is was not dressage legal, im sure it is, but i think she was just jealous !

But now its made me think maybe its time to come out the fulmer ????? as we have such good stearing.

So what shall i go for..... and how is the best way to convert ! or do i stay with what i have ?

The next stage I would go for is a D Ring, it has more steering capability than a normal snaffle, then you can go down another step

not sure if dressage legeal though as I dont do it !!! LOL

Yep, a fulmer french link is legal in dressage.

And full cheeks are! Put it this way were u disqualified for wearing it???? If not then the organisers didnt think you were!

the only full cheeks that are not dressage legal is ones with hooks! i agree with gentle warrior a D-ring would be next to try and im pretty sure its dressage legal

I ride mine in a fulmer lozenge, and if you look in Eventing magazine (and other similar magazines) you'll see loads of top people riding in full cheeks at all sorts of different levels. William Fox-Pitt for example rides all his horses in one XC. So don't feel you have to swap just because some silly woman made you feel like you should! Do what is best for your horse and for you.
