I have a rising 7 yr old who I started intro with last year and he generally goes well. In some of his dressage last year he got totally OTT and we ended up cantering rather more of the test than required! At home his schooling was pretty good and he's come on even more over the winter. However the last few weeks he's becoming a real handful to school and it's reminding me at home of where we were eventing last year so I dread to think what's going to happen at an event
In my lesson last week we tried all sorts but he's ignoring my seat aids and then setting his neck so I can't bend him, trys to yank me forward then he accelerates within the pace. I was thinking about trying some different bits. He's in a KK ultra for flatwork but xc is in a myler combination and was wondering about trying a dressage legal myler?
Any thoughts much appreciated
