Biting me in her stable at bedtine

My 20 year old mare who is a darling to do outside, loves her grooming and baths, has decided she does NOT like me trying to brush her in the stable before bed time. She gets really grumpy and tries to bite me. So not like her. It's her first year in a cosy spacious straw filled stable with a great view, after many years living out in all weathers before I got her . She loves coming in for the night, waiting at 4.30pm.
I read somewhere they see it as their bedroom, a private space so keep out!?

Are you trying to groom her while she is eating? It's not good manners but tbh, I would just leave her alone to get on with her feed, so long as you can groom her while she has hay.

My ex-racer was like that - his place, his time to chill out or eat. If, in all other respects, they are obedient and easy to handle then I think this is one of those situations when you can just respect that and leave them alone. Do all jobs like grooming tied up outside

Then don’t groom her inside?! If it’s a new thing, I wonder if she has pain somewhere or is just hacked off that she’s being annoyed while eating?

Thanks everyone yes its very much her place, her time, and I only try grooming after feeding her....I reckon she's pecking for more! lol I'll stop and carry on grooming outside which she loves.

Just stupidly cute - I want a mini now!! On the grooming, I do this outside tied up with all of mine so their stable is their space.
