Hi,

Could anyone offer advice please...I currently ride one of my horses with a bit or bitless, she is fantastic at both depending whether we are schooling, jumping, hacking or 'playing'.

I currently use a Horsemans Halter, my mare goes really well in this, only a slight shift in my hand to change direction and a light touch to bring back from canter. The only thing is that this 'horsemans halter' has the 12ft line as well as reins attached to it - not being very good with knots myself I do not wish to take the line off. I no longer use a western saddle to tie the line to the horn and find the extra line a pain out hacking in my soft treed saddle, I have tied it around her neck but would prefer a bitless without this line - (most of the time).

I have found this website but it has three different types of noseband, ideally I would like something with clearer communication for perfection however not totally necessary.

Which is the best type of noseband and why?

Sidepull?
Scawbrig?
Indian Bosal?

I dont know if I should post a website but please take a look - I like them - what do you think?

Thank you so much - I am asking father *cough* christmas for one of these - fingers crossed.

:D

I just ride in a well fitted headcollar (without any buckles over the nose). Clip the reins to the rings at sides and off you go. Looks fairly smart too if it's nice leather one. We went XC a couple of weeks ago in just the headcollar and reins :D
