Well have been trying a Dr Cooks bitless for a few days now, jumped pickle for the first time in it on saturday, had perfect control and could collect as I pleased, he was flying 3ft + with complete ease!
Then had a go at hacking today, basically rode with a bit and a bitless bridle! Had double reins the bitless bridle being the main rein and the bit being what is normally the curb rein. It worked a treat was able to hold him in just the bitless almost the whole ride! only had to resort to the bit once when he was overtaken in canter and he straight away slowed and we went back to using the bitless.
So happy first time I have been able to hold pickle on a hack in a while and bitless and him really seems to work
