bitless bridles

Made a massive difference to my horse but it turned out that my fully qualified equine dental technician was totally useless and every time I made any contact, the horse was biting her tongue as her teeth were such a disaster. Now the teeth are sorted, she goes nicely and calmly in a bitted bridle again.

Yes. My FB was a nutter in a Pelham, hated any kind of snaffle or jointed bit and refused to have anything to do with rubber!

When I first rode him (RS), he was in a Pelham because he was 'so strong'. WHen I bought him I tried a lot of different things but in the end bought a Dr Cook and put that on him. Everyone thought I was mad but his behaviour changed completely. He was no longer fighting all the time and life has been so much better since - 3 years now, I even jump him it it and I couldn't jump him before because I had no control over him. I also ride my AA in a Dr Cook and he has only been ridden for about twelve months.

Hello.
I can say that they have a part in the horse world, Years ago i used to have a ex grade a SJ and was sold on and on due to him bolting in the ring. every bit was tried and proved to be a disaster. untill we put a bitless on him, i was then able to ride with long reins, bareback and do all PC activites etc etc and he never bolted again, he was the so soft to the hand after that and we went on to do everythng we wanted.
beware they can be very harsh in the wrong hands, so try the soft approach first and allow the horse time to get used to the change before you ask too much of it.

Good luck.
