Ungegistered dales in an unreg M&M class and a dales x cob in a cob class

Ideally you'll want a double bride, if you haven't one then then the next best thing is a plain hunter bridle with a Pelham (what ever one suits your horse best) with two reins. Snaffle is also fine Hope that helps

I have a slight problem - my boy is a bit strong in a snaffle, and is usually ridden in a dutch gag! I don't think I can change his bit so close to the show date (This sunday)

Dutch Gag a no no for the classes you are doing, but as it is local some might say I am being pedantic
