Have just tried a Neue Schule hanging cheek bit. I have not used one of these bits before and after just one outing it is very scratched. Horse has had teeth checked a couple of weeks ago so shouldn"t be any sharp edges. Have used sweet iron and stainless steel bits before and never seen scratching like this. Anyone else experienced this?

The NS bit are made of a softer metal so do mark very easily, mine look matt gold now instead of super shiny. I wouldn't worry too much, it's normal
