Just found a bit called the wonder gag/ i don't know if anyone knows what it is but if you do then some info would be greatly recieved. i have problems with bitting my youngster as she gets very strong when jumping. i don't want to be constantly pulling on her mouth when in a snaffle but i don't want anything mega strong in her mouth either. i take her x-country in a ducth gag (which is a bit of a contradiction to what i have just said but its the only thing i can hold her in at the moment!) but this wonder gag sounds a little less harsh. if anyone has any experiance with one of these i would greatly appriciate any info!

thanks in advance

Hmm just looked it up on google and to me it looks a bit simliar to a american gag which is very strong...Might just be me though, no personal experiences of it.

Its more than a 3 ring.
When u say u can hold her how? Is she grabbing the bit and running? Sticking her head up?
Personally i hate gags as when u give with your hands it takes off all the pressure then its very sever all of a sudden.

its complicated the way she does take hold. she doesn't take hold of the bit as such i don't really know what she does. the ducth gag she goes in and i'm not a fan of them but she resists a pelham and completely backs off so they are no use at all! thinking about it she's probably best in what she's in. she does need that severness all of a sudden if that makes sense because she goes then she needs that to come back i'm taking her x-country schooling tommorow so will see how she goes. thanks for your help anyway i just wondered what people new about the wonder gag!
what i've written probably makes no sense at all but i know what i'm trying to say lol!

i've tried a french link and a lozenge joint. she's in a french link hanging cheek for dressage and schooling and a dutch gag with a lozenge joint for x-country and maybe show jumping depending on how string she gets next time i show jump her! i've been told to try a waterford but she doesn't really lean on the bit as such she kind of controls herslf through her neck and head if that makes ANY sense at all i can't really explain what she does! anyway thanks for your help!

Maybe if you ride in to reins on gag then and only use the second rein when needed then for the most part your just riding on the snaffle ring
