ive had my mare in several bits.
shes a rising 4yr TB exracer. she was raced in a dexter.
ive tried her in a loose ring french link, and a single jointed eggbutt snaffle, but yet she still looks uncomfortable in her mouth, shes had teeth done ect recently so all is fine, she constantly messes with her head, tilts etc, opens her mouth, tongue out, just generally doesnt seem happy, the bit i am using is perhaps a tiny bit on the large side, so going to invest in a smaller one too. there are so many snafles out there i really dont know which route to go down, she has got quite a fleshy tongue, and small mouth.
i was thinking sweet iron, copper bit maybe
or happy mouth - but heard bad things about these, i.e chew marks easily
then theres joints, lozenge, singlejoint etc
any advice welcome !!!!
