I would def move, your horse could get bitten by the dog too if you stay! I would keep quiet until you leave though, people can get angry and you don’t want your horse being at risk.
Well done, hope all goes well for you. I feel sorry for the dog having such a negligent owner putting its life at risk.I have no idea if it has bitten anyone else. Yeah, I’m thinking that too about witnesses. Anyway, my horse’s safety comes first. YO finally spoke to me again today, four days later, and after my telling her what I thought of her as a dog owner, she asked if I wanted to give a month’s notice, clearly expecting me to bottle it as she was really shocked when I said yes and actually asked me to repeat it.
I saw a place yesterday, no good, not even short term, and seeing another tomorrow, asking someone else who I’m sure will be able to help and also seeing another place on Thursday that will be short term. I need to put him first, then I’ll be after her.![]()
Hmmm. I expect she is waiting for you to come after her for insurance compensation and that's why she has been non committal, she doesn't want to accept liability which she would be by apologising.
I hope you find somewhere suitable very
thanks, I’m just trying to find somewhere. Hopefully later this afternoon I’ll have somewhere to go.Screw the notice pack you stuff leave with the horse then report to the police and dog warden.
That’s what I would do.![]()
Having now spoken to other liveries, it has bitten many of them as well as the horses.
It’s a Romanian rescue andcannot be trusted, yet YO persists in letting it run around on the yard.
So I am not the first by a long way and am trying to get out asap.
Hopefully been tested for Brucella canis before being imported but not all "Rescues" do this and it's not a legal requirement. It’s a Romanian rescue
100% this.It definitely needs reporting, that is not on.
BTW. They don't give tetanus injections anymore for dog bites apparently. OH was bitten by a dog and they just said to keep an eye on it.
Yes I get on fine with them.Hope you get out, soon! Do you get on with the other liveries? Just wondering if they could be called on as witnesses/fellow victims? I also wonder if she's got adequate Public Liability insurance. A livery yard is classified as a public space, so this will certainly expose whether or not she has it. Having a street dog roaming a yard is idiotic. These dogs often only have negative experiences of humans prior to being taken off the street, so always have an element of unpredictability.
They do it on a case by case basis. OH was attacked on Boxing Day 2023 and was advised to get a tetanus as he didn't know how many he had received.

If this had been in Norway the dog would have been pts straight away. They’re actually a bit too happy to seize people’s dogs for minor mishaps there, but that’s another story.Dog bites don't just happen and dogs can be pts if they have bitten anyone.
I’m in Kent. What part of the country are you, as some people here my know yards that maybe slightly further or smaller yards you may not know or facebook groups you can post in
