Recently took pony out hunting...ended up not going to well as he developed a hideous violent pulling that he would do ever so sharply and literally heaved you out of the saddle he was so strong...he was doing it everytime i tried to hold back in any of his paces...ie keeping him in a trot! i ride him xc and hunting in a jointed pelham and he sj in a continental single jointed gag and flats in a hanging french link snaffle or a loose ring french link snaffle. my big bitting problem that he is quite sensitive in his mouth so tends to chuck his head around when you apply pressure and when riding normally, unless he is running off with me he is excessively soft mouthed, but when he does run off he pulls like a train and forgets how to be sensitive! does anyone have any advice for what bits i could try for him that could help me with any of these problems? or any adviece for what i could do to stop him pulling?

What's he like in the french link when you're not doing flatwork? If he's sensitive in the mouth then he may prefer to stay in this doing everything.
When he does take off though remember every pull needs a release to be effective. So pull back on the rein but make sure you give again then take a pull a second time
Best of luck, nothing more fun then a pony that enjoys tanking off with you :p

yeah he is ok ish in his french link but he decides that running off in that one is the most exciting thing in the world and even if you pull and release he just shoves his head down in a very rebellious fashion! i don't know whether he might just be really naughty! its like he forgets that he is sensitive when he wants to run a super speeds! thanks for the advice tho!
