Im sure this has been asked loads of times before but any advice on my problem would be great. My tb is currently ridden in a loose ring french link but over the last few months he has started leaning on the bit and really chomping it. He is chomping so much he's not concentrating on what he is doing and tripping up. He also shoves his head in the air at times. Ive gone back to basics with his schooling as he is an ex racer and has bad transitions. His teeth are checked regulary and next dental is next week. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks

I can only suggest what worked for my TB. He behaved exactly like yours in a French link, was worse with a lozenge, dangerous in a happy mouth, blooming scary in a neue Schule team up bit....we had teeth/back/ saddle etc checked.

He is now transformed by a micklem bridle and Bomber happy tongue cherry roller.

Weirdest looking bit I have ever seen in real life, quite mild in action, but the key seems to be that it avoids tongue pressure. It has a very particular shape to it, it isn't simply ported. The cherry roller bit are three tiny smooth rollers on each side, which help discourage them grabbing the bit.
