Hi all, I have a super 14hh chunky traditional cob very forward and a little bit opiniated! When she arrived she was in a sweet iron with d rings and 2 copper rings in the centre slightly curved mouthpiece no idea what it is called! I have been advised its not dressage legal so have tried an Eggbut comfy barrel and a Fager Julia both of which she seems to hollow in or go too heavy. I dont agree with jamming their heads down and want a soft acceptance, I am working on my hands and engaging her hind end and eventually she softens but its not consistent. I have had a bit consultant out and she recommended the comfy barrel. Saddle and back checked recently. I dont want to compete at Grand Prix but would like to achieve a softer and more consistent contact than I am getting at the moment. I have a lesson this afternoon and we are putting her back in the original bit. Just seeing if anyone on here has had the same issues and has any advice.
Thanks

I would ping a message to the bit fitter that you had out and explain the issues you are having and see if they have any other recommendations given they have already been out to see your horse
