Hi all,

After some advice for my new youngster.....

Basically she isnt the lightest/softest horse in the world although we are working very well now and stretching forwards.

I currently have her in a fairly thin loose ring snaffle (my thinking is that a sightly thinner mouth piece will give her a little more to respect than a thicker one and the fact she is an ISH with a slightly thick fleshy mouth)

However, she does lean and is not always the most responsive t half halts although I well appreciate she is 4 years old and is not expected to be balanced/consistent.

She mouths well too but the next day she is dry in the corners of her lips (and my hands are certainly not being strong!)

Just looking for a few ideas really......I'll carry on with what im using for now as she is improving all the time I was just thinking if anyone had any thoughts if something different may help her more and the dry corners on the lips is giving me a bit concern. The bit is wide enough and not pinching so I cant uderstand why its happening
