Bitting Advice Please

I think i need to change my boys bit over, but am really not sure what to try him in.

Currently he is in NS loose ring verbindend lozenge bit, which he goes quite nicely in, however, he has recently started to mouth quite a lot and despite being in a grackle try to cross his jaw.

Anyone have any advice?

A drop should only be used with a bit with cheeks. using a drop with this bit could cause more problems. There is a tendency for the drop part to lie across the bit ring, compressing it into the side of the mouth.

Try taking away the flash strap completely and make sure that you can get two fingers between the horse & cavesson.

Unfortunately i don't have a cavesson noseband it is a grackle not a flash i ride him in.

I'll have to see if i can borrow one
