Bitting advice

I need to find a dressage legal bit for my mare. She has always been fussy in her mouth and have recently tried the pee wee bit - she loves it and is happier than she has ever been - seems to like the straight bar with loose rings. She has a tendency to leans if the bit does not have a loose ring.

Have recently investigate Mylers the 5.5 is too small and the 6 seems a little too big. Any suggestions much appreciated.

I dont no much about bits for dressage but I had the same problem tring to find a bit were I had control but that my horse comfortable in. I got mine from the jonh whitaker web sit. They have got a wide collection, u mite find one there... hope i have helped.

Have you tried Neue Schule. I spoke with Heather there and she recommended me a bit for my horse that has a very soft palate and finds most bits uncomfortable. I too needed a dressage legal bit and have found my NS bit to be one of the best purchases I have ever made. I think they also come in quarter sizes as I have a 5 1/4.

Really random, but I also use the pee wee on my gelding, but recently changed to a dressage legal bit. Found a single jointed loose ring in my bit box and it's worked lovely

However, it's not just a standard single joint - it's one with a curved mouthpeice so it does not pinch the horses tongue or 'nut-cracker' quite the same. *shrug* it worked for me anyway! xD

I have been using the Myler Comfort Snaffle this week and she loves it - I think it is a little on the big side but does not seem to be a problem.. Someone suggested to use the Myler french link which has the lozenge but the 5.5" was too small.

Not sure if I am allowed to use Myler Comfort Snaffle at Riding Club level - is it definitely british dressage legal - anyone know??
