Hi folks

My horse has a really small palette and mouth in general. He is currently in a snaffle, this one to be exact… http://www.rideaway.co.uk/COTTAGE-CRAFT-GS-FULL-CHEEK-SNAFFLE-WITH-ELIPTICAL-LINK/ however I feel it is really cumbersome and takes up a lot of room in his small mouth, there is no room between the bit and the roof of his mouth.

We don’t need cheek pieces anymore as we have our steering under control (he’s just turned 5) so I’m thinking of changing his bit but have no idea what to go for.

He has a really soft mouth, and breaks are not an issue for us at all so he needs something very gentle. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have been looking at the myler comfort snaffles (there are various varieties) and also neue schule bits as I’ve heard good things about both, but I have no idea when it comes to bits!

Thank you! :)

Neue Schule bits are fab. Perfect for horses who don't have an awful lot of room in their mouths aswell. After going through a variety of bits, I settled on a Starter bit for my cob. He needed a little more in the brakes dept, so he's now in a hanging cheek NS. Haven't looked back :)
