Bitting and bits - best source of info

Having just read a long and sometimes slightly heated thread on loose ring snaffles, I have come to the conclusion that I really need to learn more about bits and bitting... please can someone recommend how I should go about doing that? I know there is no substitute for experience, but in the absence of a great deal of that, is there a seminal book or course that I should look for? Thx

Is basically good but has many errors or incorrect interpretations of the action of bits.

A great book to get is 'Bits and Bitting' by Diana Tuke
