Have had a bit of a dilemma with my pony as to what bit suits him, he is so fussy that we're having trouble finding something he likes and goes nicely in. He is currently in a wilkie lozenge, but he could really do with something stronger. I had him in a mullen mouth rubber pelham in the summer and he went lovely in it, but it was just too strong for him, i also don't think he liked the mullen mouth as much as the lozenge as he tried to get his tongue over it a lot and opened his mouth a lot. I'm stuck between a Butterfly happy mouth straight bar which i thought might be suitable as it is softer with shorter shanks (although i know its a driving bit!) and a french link/lozenge pelham. Will a lozenge pelham completely nullify the curb action or will it just be weakened? Any advice welcome, thanks.
