My horse seems very unhappy in her mouth, she is very fleshy with a thick tounge , she is currently in a hanging cheek myler starter bit with a comfort barrel. She has her teeth done regularly by a very good , (properly!) qualified EDT. I hear the Pee Wee bit is good for very fussy horses, but hate gadgety things, anyone else had any good results with this bit or any other bits for fussy mouths? I've tried variations of contact too, so hope its not my hands, my other horse seems happy so hope it isnt me!!

In the right hands the Pee Wee is excellent, you have three different ways of using it, so can adjust accordingly, I used one all last season on a very fussy mouthed TB and he responded so well that my daughter, 9 stone wet through hunted him (17.2 hh) wihout any problem

Thanks for that, I have ordered one on trial so await with bated breath! Will see how we go. She just seems so unhappy wth pressure on her tongue and makes all sorts of noises and head tilting, we are just re-schooling her so will be very careful with it.

I use one on my advanced endurance horse. Like your mare he has a fleshy lips and a large tongue and tends to fuss with the bit, get his tongue over the bit, yaw and chomp. I tried a few different things including Mylers but the Pee Wee has been brilliant. He doesn't mess with his mouth at all and I have perfect brakes - he doesn't lean or fight or throw his head. If the bit is too severe I found he stopped going forward and would jolt to a halt, with the Myler combo he just leaned on it but with the Pee Wee he's as light as a feather and a very happy pony.

My sister used one on her clydexshire who had a very thick tongue and fleshy lips, who was very fussy with her mouth and was not great on brakes or steering and it helped enormously
