Hi, I have a horse which we believe is 9 (been told he is no older than 6) he is a real pain when putting his bridle on, today i was wrestling with him for a good 45 mins trying to bit him, he just chucks his head up. his teeth have been checked and the dentist said that are fine. He is in a hard rubber straight pelham, and was previously in a waterford gag but the dentist recommended the pelham. we were thinking of taking him back to the basics, and starting from scratch with him, but which bit would be best to use? i was thinking a mouthing bit with keys, because he CONSTANTLY naps and gets on the bit, other people are saying use a snaffle, when he is in a snaffle i have no control whatsoever. Opinions guys?
