Cat Litter!!

A boy on our yard was watching the news the other night and saw someone suggesting that Cat Litter is better/as good as road grit/ salt for this snow and ice.

He went out and got some and placed some all across the yard last night minus the top end because it wouldn't cover that far. Anywho, we had about 4 inches of snow last night and hey-presto, not a bit has settled on the cat litter and all of that area is clear

We can't get hold of any grit so this has been a life-saver.

Has anyone else tried it??

Well i was resisting using it, but i am sick of slipping around like bambi on ice so i'm going to join those hundreds of people and buy some. Or i could steal my cats, but i doubt they would be impressed

They won't go out in the snow, but it is up past their tummies! lol

So, if cat litter works would the compressed wood pellets work as well?

My back yard had a steep concrete ramp that iced over and we used to throw all the ash from the rayburn and woodburners on to it, messy but effective.

The wood pellets work too if they're slightly softened already, we're lucky enough to have bought grit in advance but one of bedding bags burst and we never cleared it up and there's no ice in that area either
