Bizarre horsey habits?

<=== he is quite mouthy and it is something he has never grown out of. He will try and grab the halter as you are putting it on (his sire did same) and then try and catch the clip on the lead rope. If he is worried he will drop his lower eyelid and hang onto your sleeve. Which looks really stupid as he is nearly 16 hh. If you don't go and say Hi to him when you walk into the paddock, he will come and poke you in the back - ignore that at your peril as his next step is to give you a shove.

He also likes to carry sticks around the paddock - which is quite colty behaviour but he is now 16, been gelded since he was 6 months old and still hasn't grown out of it. He really needs another boy to play "stick" with as apparently the idea is for the other horse to grab the other end and try and take it off of him. Every now and then he tries to get one of the mares (he hasn't had a male friend for years) to play, but they don't understand the rules and I do worry that he is going to poke an eye out in his enthusiasm.

And he licks bare skin, anywhere will do.

Nothing I have ever done has broken him of any of these habbits. I just go with it and laugh at him a lot.
