I caught this photo today (sorry if it's large. On my phone and don't know how to resize!). Yes, he did do that himself. Just.. Don't ask!

Crazy horse! They do some odd things!

We put some cones out in the field for the horses to 'play' with.

Celine first stood on it like this -

Then like this-

Strange animal

We had one horse that honestly 'dunked' his hay in his water. Like it was tea and biscuits!

We used to water it down for him to see if it was that, but he kept doing it...

Haven't got a pic, but Jay likes to stand his back foot in a bucket. Where I tie him on the yard there is usually a mucking out bucket nearby and he will manoeuvre himself and it so that he can put his back leg in!

Love the cone pictures!!

Boxers mine will do that occasionally but with a front leg and it has to be his food bucket

One of my mini's eats his feed (only a handful so he's not left out) and when he's finished he rolls on the concrete with his head in the bowl - every time

my carriage pony fell asleep whilst we were hooking him up to it. We walked him into the school and stood him in position then as I was holding his leadrope I felt his head go really heavy. We had to unhook him and long rein him round the school to wake him up.

When I pull up at the yard gate, Benji can see me. I get out and open the gate, drive in etc and without fail, when I park up Benji is having a wee! He does it Every single day.

Every day when I turn him out one of mine will roll on one side, sit up like a dog and rub his face all over his forelegs then drop back down to muddify his other side. He'll do that three times in three different places then go about his business. He also whickers when he's shaking the dust off.

My shetland rolls when tied up. We don't know why, have triued allsorts to prevent it but nothing works. She just likes to roll when bored!

I have a welsh sec A that wee's on his hay, chuck a few piles down and he will go and have a bit of a wee on all of them.. no idea why, unless he does it so others dont eat it...

and my mare always goes for a wee when she see's me come out the house to feed..

There was a horse in our yard years ago who did this too. We also had a horse who would put his face into water almost up to his eyes and blow bubbles out his nose. Fruquently he wouldn't drink, he just really enjoyed blowing bubbles.

I used to know a horse who would stretch his front like a dog wanting to play, ass in the air behind, front legs at full stretch before him.

Whenever I do a dressage test and we do the halt and salute at the end (or, indeed at the beginning as in some tests) my horse always "smiles". He curls up his top lip and stands there looking dopey. We sometimes get marked down for it but sometimes the judge finds it funny and takes pity on us :o

This was quite silly. He was entire at the time. Not sure if he took a shine to the haylage ;)
I am aware that the field is grim. He was on loan from the owner of the dump where he lived and I wasn't allowed to move him, not that anyone round here would take a stallion anyway. It took me a year to persuade her to sell him to me so I could chop his balls off and move him to a nice yard with actual grass and stuff.

Here's Kenny holding my water bucket for me (he likes to be helpful)

And here he is helpfully holding my grooming brush

And here he is just checking everything is in working order in my car boot

His fave trick is stealing the grooming brushes and floating them in his water

when it was really rainy the horses wouldn't leave their shelter, so I dragged a bucket of water in for them!

my 3 yr old put on foot in it and stood there for ages like he didn't realise then took that foot out and put the other one in! weirdo, as if he wasn't wet enough already!!

Mine used to do that! It drove me mental because he trailed all round the box and soaked his bed with his mouthfuls of wet hay!

My cob is really nosey - when the vet or farroer comes and shes not ties up short enough she will be in their kit emptying it out!! same with the grooming kit

My little D always turns around to look what your doing, this is his favourite position, have a few pics similar but this is the best example! :p he is really nosey too!!

This was Nicky, my daughter's ex racer, he was rather 'special' (RIP Nick) this was him trying to catch snowflakes, still brings a tear to my eye

Tom throws things out of his stable if he's not centre of attention - his favourite thing is to throw things at the farrier while he's doing Ron's feet...

Ron throws you his empty feed bucket in the summer (they're fed in the field in summer, but the winter they are fed in their stables out of stone troughs!)

Emil has pulled 2 7ft fence post up our of the ground and dragged them across the field
Picked up a chunk of wood and threw it into the arena as horse and rider went past.
Found and dug up feet and feet of electrical wire. God knows where from as I have searched every inch of the field
Plays with a dog ring tied to his rug rail
That's just the ones I can remember lol

Our 3 yo managed to get his premier equine buster trio outer rug, under rug and neck piece completely off without ripping the rug or undoing any of the straps or buckles even on the neck piece. It was found in the field with everything still perfectly fastened.:confused:

Oh yeah imagine the farrier bends over with his butt facing horse, horse takes half a step forward, and promptly knees him up said butt. Hahaha. Luckily not too hard and he saw the funny side to it.

My D does this too!! weird isnt it?!!

Infact the other day i noticed he had his hind leg caught in his belly strap of his rug!! did he panic?? nope, he just carried on eating with his leg in the air :o i got it out and he just carried on as normal - i have now adjusted the straps so it shouldn't happen again

My horse is scared of other horses, which I find odd. He's okay with the horses at his yard, but if we meet a horse coming the opposite way on a hack, he will snort, sit back on his haunches and attempt a spin. We ran backwards some distance the other day when we met a lady I know on her horse, accompanied by her husband on a bike and their dog. It's rather embarrassing, especially as the other horses rarely take any notice!
