Bizarre things your horse has done..

He also likes having his feet rasped and grooms my bum while I rasp his fronts. He doesn't bother grooming me when I'm brushing him though.

I used to know a horse who would stretch his front like a dog wanting to play, ass in the air behind, front legs at full stretch before him.

My loan pony used to do this if I woke her up when I went to turn out in the morning. She would do a stretching/yoga routine and stretch individual legs as well and arch her neck before she was ready to go out.

This is Dolly aka "la sofa" giving her nether regions a good scratch.... made me giggle :p

Dolly doesn't like other ponies poo! If one pops if front of her she shoves her head ridiculously high in the air and starts backing up, bending and generally acting weird. She stands like a soldier the rest of the time!

Can't say i blame her really! :-)

Every day, my mare wanders around her field pulling up the plastic posts holding up the (switched on!) electric tape, and lines them up on the floor so they all face the same way. Every. Day. :o
Funny thing is, once they're down and all lying "as they should be", she doesn't step over the tape, doesn't crib the fences beyond the tape, doesn't even go near it - she just potters off because she's finished her "game" and waits for me to come and put it all back up when I discover it
Special one!

Not quite as bizarre, but our pony is obsessed with height - he will climb on anything just to add that extra inch. We're always finding him balanced on tree stumps / straw bales / buckets. Bless!

... I'll think of more ;)

We had one horse that honestly 'dunked' his hay in his water. Like it was tea and biscuits!

We used to water it down for him to see if it was that, but he kept doing it...

Yep I've had one like that too - made a right mess in the stable! Also know a pony who tries to get the headcollar in his mouth as you're putting it on, almost as if he's desperate to be bridled, and Boyo's fave thing is zip toggles - the chewing of and pulling off of them!

My girl is obsessed with the wheelbarrow. She backs up to it, lifts her hind leg and taps it continuously (this is her latest, before she used to just place her hind leg and stand with it in the wheelbarrow). She almost plays a tune with it! She also has a thing about the mucking out tools aswell - she HAS to knock them over sideways and position them!

She yawns continuously when you put her rug on in the morning to go out. She also wees every time I arrive at the yard to turn her out.

The one real strange time was when my mum was looking after her whilst I was away one weekend. She somehow managed to escape from her field. Not so strange, apart from the fact that she (being 16.3hh and of large stature) somehow managed to leap an electric fence into a gap of about 2 metres, without destroying anything, and then LIFT a five bar metal gate off the hinges completely, drop it on the floor, and gallop off into the adjacent field full of lush knee high grass for the day. The hinges she lifted the gate off where about three inches high, plus, the distance between the bars were not wide enough for her to have got her head through to lift it up to remove!

My pony removes & eats (yes eats!) his own chestnuts...
I caught him at it one day, after having owned him for 10 years & wondering why they never really grew...

I have a Dartmoor that killed a rabbit as well, he then tossed the poor thing in the air by picking it up with his teeth and throwing it. Evil little swine!!
