Mucked out horseys' stall then turned her out. When I brought her in this evening - someone had been in her stall and they had left it full of cow-pat like poo, her hay had been eaten and the tack box had obviously been rifled through! Really annoyed - don't mind someone putting their horse in her stall for a bit but to leave it in such a mess! Bl**dy cheek! I am now thinking of getting a chain and locking it when she's turned out.

I would lock it, whoever it is will do it again if they are that hard faced..

yeh deffo put up a sign, what a cheek and to not even bother to make some sort of attempt to clean it !!
id be well cross, lock it up they have no rite to do that anyway,if they ask say for instance they wanted to put there horse in ur box whilst mucking out if horse is on box rest then fair enough but to eat hay and touch tack box !!!
thats not on !!!!

I wouldn't put up a sign saying clean it out, I would put up a sign saying keep out! You would not expect to go home and find the other livery asleep in your bed and her dog in your kitchen? So why put up with her horse in your stable!

Trouble with locking it is if there as an emergency and your horse needs to come in, where would she go?

I think a note would be sufficient "This stable is only for the use of xxxxx"

I went to my yard yesterday to see people, my mare is currently at stud and before she went i emptied it out and jeyes fluid so nice and clean for her return! looked in my stable.................bloody pony and her foal are usin it!! told the lad that is takin the p*ss and want it scrubbed out they said that their stable was to small for the 2 of them! wouldnt mind but is 12hh pony and foal! and the pony's box is defo big enough as a 15hh pony used to be there and he had plenty of space!! seen my ass as i'm payin £17.50 per week for that stable so i keep it and the lad is only payin £14 for his!! told YO that i'm gonna charge lad rent as he is 'subletting'!!!

Absolutely! If you're paying for that stable then no-one else has the right to use it! I would fill it full of stuff (boxes etc) so no-one even thinks about it!

And to the OP, put a note up saying don't use your stable at all. After all not only did they leave a mess, but they solied your bedding and ate your hay which will cost you time and money!

tell the lad to move his mare out pretty quick and put a padlock on your door too! cheek some people have!
