I'm hungry! Horrible day with food, doing fairly well on my low dose fat jab. Decided at lunch time to whizz up a new little healthy meal, that turned out to be inedible, so quickly put a crumpet in the toaster as then short on time. Slapped a bit of marmite on it (I know, but it is usually good believe me 😊 ) Could only eat half it was still stone cold inside from the freezer. Not to worry. Got through the afternoon but very hungry by teatime, so made myself to a very nice smoked salmon and black pepper sandwich on wholemeal for tea. I put it under a net on the side in the kitchen while I had a quick shower.

Just went in there and my little Jessie dog sat in the middle of the kitchen whistling nonchalantly and refusing to look me in the eye. Remnants of fly net and plate on the floor, lovely sandwich entirely gone. Neither of my dogs have EVER stolen food, until today. 🤬 Today of all days, I guess I am just not supposed to eat today then. I can't bring myself to scold her, my fault for leaving it within reach and she looks so worried now! 😂 I am guessing her very restricted diet made her feel it worthwhile stealing something just to break the monotony of insect protein diet only - oh, and she ate the cucumber too!

Ice cream and strawberries it is then, sod the diet, that's enough of that old nonsense for one day. ;)

Aw I feel your pain 😂 with my lurcher about you cannot leave any kind of food unattended. Ever.

I moved my air fryer into the utility room as it was cluttering up the kitchen and annoying me… she’s only figured out how to open it and lick any crumbs/grease off the inside 🙄

Definitely have the second portion of strawberries and cream - and don’t take your eyes off it, even for a second, just in case 🤣

Mrs J do you have anymore crumpets in the freezer? Crumpets with butter and marmite are delicious, Mr StR has just told me that the best way to do them is slice in half, add marmite and grated cheese, bit more grated cheese on top, then sling them in the air fryer. He’s just told me they’re unctuous, which as well as not being the right word always reminds me of Todd Unctuous in Father Ted!

We had to put a bolt on the fridge door because our previous dog could open it! He was very greedy.
Hope you've eaten something since the original post, Mrs J.
We had a Labrador like that many years ago, home from a lovely night out to two fresh ducks all over the kitchen and even upstairs on the landing. They were meant for guests arriving the next day. 🤣

Yes I have certainly caught up on my calories now, in fact I think I might have gone quite far over my calorie allowance for this month.🤭

Crumpets, butter, marmite and cheese 🤌
I like my butter melted and my cheese cold though. The whole combo grosses my husband put.

When I was in hospital recently my sister had my house sorted out and cleaned for me (I live alone) and had my dogs. I now have no toaster and can't tell you how much I miss it! You can do crumpets and things in the air fryer but not the same
