As some of you know I brought Lottie back into work this spring, she was bored and fat.
I hack her out about twice a week. She rears (only small ones, too much gut to go up high) and spins round, spooks at grass (nature really IS out to get us) and shadows, and refuses to move occassionally.
She loves to canter along a nice grassy track, ears picked, taking hold of the bit and generally looking pleased with herslf, and since i started riding her again she's a new lease of life, but it's the getting to the grassy tracks thats the problem.
Yesterday an old friend of ours came to ride her. I put her on the lead rein expecting issues, (Katy doesn't really ride but knows enough to cling on and not annoy Lottie and has a very good natural seat!)
Lottie did not put one foot wrong, even when Beau uncharacteristically spooked (beau was very embarassed, not concentrating due to sedate nature of hack) right into her. Just mooched along with a smug, 'I'm looking after my friend' kind of look on her long nose.
I don't fear her antics and feel relaxed about riding her, I ride her with a relatively long rein, same as katy, and don't wind her up so why is she such a BAG with me? Does anyone else's horse look after other people better than them?
