I know what you mean, mine will be in today too, mainly as I can't get back to him until 6.30 and I would be worrying all day if I left him out, he really hates getting wet, so much so he fights me for the umberalla lol

I've put mine out today, but he really didn't want to go out and tried to drag me back to the yard...so I feel a bit guilty!! But he is on a diet so he can't really spend all day standing in his stable munching on hay!

Would rather mine out in mud that what we have at the moment!
We have had the freezing weather, ground so hard it is like perma-frost. On top of that we had sudden heavy rain for a few hours, that then froze as soon as it hit the ground and left us with fields that resemble ice rinks, at least three inches thick in places. Forcast is now snow by the looks of things and if we get snow on this thats us stuck with it for weeks.
On top of that the yard is up a mile long farm track with a sudden drop to a river on one side. Road never gets grit on it and the camber of it means that when you slide (and you do even in 4wd) you head towards the drop and that is heart stoppingly scarey.
We have had this conditions since mid december and they are getting worse every week. What i would give for some mud and rain, or even better.....April.

Oh yeh, and I can't decide to just not go as I work there!

Another one here who had to be dragged out of his stable this morning. It's blowing a hoolie here, absolutely foul and still not really light yet. I've got 6 stables to muck out and funnily enough I'm struggling to get motivated to go off and do it. Think I'll have another cup of coffee before I go off and get started!

I'm so fed up with this weather at the minute

My car is broken so my OH is having to ferry me around - he forgot his coat this morning as well, and couldn't sit in the car because he had to hold the dog lol!

Roll on summer.....

Ours were happy to go out this morning but I expect it will be fun getting them in. It is blowing a hooly and horizontal rain here but we usually come off pretty well so I am hoping it will go through by lunchtime?

Mine was keen to go out until he got out of the sheltered yard and the wind hit him! Then he started lagging behind a bit, dog gave up halfway to field and went back to hide in the feed room!! Three of ours are out 24/7 so they don't have much choice, although none are clipped at all and all have nice waterproof rugs so didn't look too bad.

I would not feel guilty about turning out but mine is in for a month on strict walking, so i have to get on it and walkaround for half an hour, I am certainly choosing my moment to do that! Do you reckon there'll be a window in this foul stuff at some point today?

It is very wet here but not that cold mine went out at 7 till about 4 tonight I tend to chuck them out in most things they are well rugged up dont like to see horses stood in all day. Our fields are very wet but on slopes so quite well drained. I find the hard part is walking in all this mud, now changing to second coat and hat of the day to walk the dogs !

I rode mine in the dark and howling gales this morning. She spent most of the ride going sideways - matters were not helped by her waterproof exercise sheet pretending to be a sail. I'm sure we both went the whole way with one eye closed. The rain was like a whip across my face!! I have left her in her bedroom for the day!!

Then to top things off I was driving to work and came across what appeared to be a river in the road. There was a woman walking through it in her waders and the water came up to above her knee. I tried to drive through very slowly but determinedly and she didn't get out of the way so I had to stop the car which then died and would only start after the tenth time of trying. It then juddered its way belching huge clouds of black smoke out of the exhaust and we somehow made it to the other side.

I'm sure its never been this wet before!!!

Mine has gone out - the weather doesnt bother her - she'd rather be out than in. Went out at 8 and will prob come in at 4ish if still bad although this is early for her - she'll be desperate to get out tomo! Most have been left in at our yard - thats ok but they wont get exercised will jsut be in all day tied uop whilst mucked out and back in again. Would rather mine went out than that!
