So me and my hubby go for a ride today, it was his first ride on a horse that we are able to borrow who it was believed would be an excellent escort for my sharp baby ned. All was going extremely well and Wills, my boy, was behaving like a star. My hubby turned to me and said 'Is it too early to say how good Wills is being', I replied 'No, he's being a star!' with that a herd of young bullocks appeared in a field next to us and commenced the Moo cow grand national and hoolied around the field like a bunch of nutters, both our neds went la la and poor Wills just didn't know what to do and stood and shook, I hopped off and walked him away from the ruddy brown monsters who clearly thought it was great fun to run at us! Fortunatly Wills calmed down with me on the ground however my hubbies horse continued to be a complete nit and piaffed down the road.
So now I have a moo cow trauma to deal with next time we go out as Wills most definatly will not forget them!
I'm a veggie but I have to say Beef burgers seemed a great idea today!!!!!

There's something about cows that horses don't like... Bobby will reluctantly walk past them and snort if they are just in the field but turns onto skitso (sp!) monster if they start to moo!!!!

Oh god what a nightmare

I was cantering along one day , went round a bend on the bridle path and there was a field full of those long horned beasts all gathered together, our pony did this massive pig like noise and spun round and bolted for home!! did manage to stop eventually although my life did flash before me!!!!

Years ago I was riding Wills mummy on a toll ride which went through a field of young cows, as I came through the gate they started to take interest and so I thought I'd trot on and make space between us, I looked over my shoulder to see they had started to trot on behind me, so I cantered on, looked round and they were cantering after us so I pushed on into a faster canter and the bloody things had, by this time, caught up with us and I pretty much had a tad of a stampeed on my hands, fortunatly there was a relatively small gate at the other end of the field which we jumped and got out of the field and the little sods stopped, phew! When I told my friend who owned the cows he said never run away from them - well it seems to me cows are destined to terrify my neddies!!!!!!
