Yesterday my thug pony bust through the electric fencing broke the tape and two posts. Today I turned her out rug-less and had reconnected it all, went out to get them and the idiot cob was leaning on it trying to bust through again. I have the fence man cp 50 with D cell batteries in and clearly she’s decided it doesn’t faze her! So I need a leisure battery, can anyone recommend a good one that won’t break the bank please

I started with one which lasted 2 1/2 weeks! Got another so I always have one charged to swap over?

When my thug mare broke through her fence I used to joke I’d give up with the energiser and just tie a car battery to each hind leg!

If possible get yourself a fence tester. All sorts of things can affect the power it gives out and just because it’s working, it doesn’t necessarily mean you have maximum zap.

I had to put another row of tape up and add another battery and energiser to prevent my thug pushing her way through the fence. 4 rows seems to have fooled her - for now!!!!!!

Moved the energiser to a different bit of the fence. It’s working now so all good thanks
