Watch it without crying? I just can't it gets me every single time. i watched it last night and found myself actually laughing at myself crying. Also does anyone know how they got the horse looking so awful near the end?

Oh yeah i also discovered that shabby from the last big brother was in it!!

Howl like a baby everytime! Just the music sets me off, particularly the bit that plays while he's dreaming of Ginger before he sees her on the cart :( ;)

This is not helped by now having my own Ginger!

International Velvet. When the horse goes nuts on the plane and they have to kill it. *blubs hopelessly*

I was talking to a Canadian lady who must be in her fifties or sixties, and she told me she and her sister were sitting watching a film of a horse galloping. Suddenly she realised she was crying, and turned to her sister who'd also turned to her, and SHE was tearing up too :p Suckers, all of us!

blub blub all the way from start to finish, wake up in morning with sore eyes, red nose, and a headache......how daft is that....wouldn't go to the pictures to see it,that would be so embarrassing

I cry like a baby as soon as it starts then all the way through because I know what's going to happen. OH finds it hilarious. First time I watched it was at the cinema with my nan. She fell asleep!

The horse at the end is the stall at the sale is actually a robot.
And never knew shabby was in it will have to watch it tonight and have a good cry again

The older Black Beauty made in the 70's with Mark Lester is the one that make me very emotional. The bit with the Hunt galloping through the farm in slow motion brings a big lump to my throat, don't know why.

Glad to see i'm not the only one. Whenever i say how sad it is to any non horsey friends i just get a strange look or a snigger :D

wow didn't realise it was a robot, i am pleased it wasn't a real horse though

Oh no it isn't! It was a rescue case slaughter-bound and at the time of filming was in better condition than when it was bought from whoever was sending it for meat. Ask piebaldsparkle. She knows the proper story.

I was not allowed to watch it as a kid as I got myself in a hysterical sobbing mess everytime it was on.......many many years later (last Christmas!) my Mum bought me the box set......I sat and cried my way through them all!!! Still love it though :D

Glad I'm not the only one - a bemused boyfriend at the time couldn't understand while I cried practically from the first note of the music right through to the end. Ive since got it on DVD but haven't managed to bring myself to watch it.

Black Beauty - the story has had a major influence on my love of horses and was the only book I allowed my mum to read to me when I was 6 for about a year as soon as she had finished it she had to start reading it to me again. I still have it and have collected numerous copies of it over the years.
