OMG i thought i was doing a nice thing getting my children new tv/dvd player for christmas, and some dvd's. but no my little girl cant sleep so i said she could watch a dvd for a bit then bed, so she put black beauty on and about 1 hour ago she was in tears saying that she wants to go to the field and give her pony a cuddle and make sure he is ok, beacuse of black beauty, lol its so sweet but i really didnt think it would get to her like this..

I was crying at Watership Down the other day, my OH thinks its hilarious, I have actually avoided watching it since I was about 7!!!

Dumbo does it for me every time...the part where all the other mother animals are cuddling their babies to sleep and Dumbo's mother stretches against the chain holding her and just manages to reach him with the tip of her trunk and rocks him to sleep. Oh god.

I'm a very strong person and not much sets me off but Black Beauty does! I read the book before I watched the film, and quite a few pages needed to be dried!!

QR I just can't watch Black Beauty - I start crying as soon as it starts!! What ever you do don't buy you little girl Spirit (animated film about wild horses) - she will ball her eyes out!

I read the book as a kid and it got to me so much I'm still rescueing wayward Gingers twenty years later!

I bought and watched the film a few years ago thinking it was the Black beauty that used to be on tv when I was little (you know the one, Beauty saves the day), no it wasn't that one. I sobbed like a baby the whole way through it, husband kept coming in the room & shaking his head asking me why I put myself through it!!!! Good question.

That said, I watched ET yesterday and still cried at the end, 38 years old and how many times has that film been on???

It's the bit in Black Beauty where the drunk farmer has ridden him home with no shoe and he falls on his knees, then as he's lying there in agony he dreams he is back with Ginger and Merrylegs in the summer pasture under the trees - gets me every time! (reaches for the kleenex!)
