I live about a 5 min walk from a farmhouse Anna Sewell lived in for a few years with her parents. I walk past it a few times a week and always think of the book ?. Anyone have the LP narrated by Judi Bowker? I have two copies and have them framed up on the wall at the top of the stairs ?

Sadly Billy passed away around his 31st birthday. There was a celebration for his 30th birthday. My sister took me on a ‘road trip’ from the Midlands to Wales. She just told me it ‘was a surprise’. I met Black Beauty and it was a dream come true. He was everything and more- Brad Pitt had nothing on him. Many people travelled to see him that day and his owner could not have been more welcoming. A day I will never forget. Growing up in the 70’s, Black Beauty was my dream as I am sure he was for many of you.

Yes I have the LP - I bought it new at the time. I treasure it.

One of the Recordings my friends horse Addie had to fill in, apparently they needed a palomino in one of the stables in the barn and the one being shipped from USA was stuck in quarantine. My friend had to sit in the stable feeding him so he would not raise his head as the viewers would know it was a different horse.

We loved the movie as adults (my OH and I). Very sad in parts but there was also a bit of humour, such as when BB met Ginger, who was banging on stable walls and preparing to rip anyone to shreds. BB sighed, absolutely smitten.

Another thought... anyone know where the little grey pony is now? Or anything about him/her?

Can't find anything online... there was a grey pony, right? Lol.
