Black Box

I think basically you cut off some horses hair, send it away with your money, some person puts it in a box...and then hey presto your horse is all better. Although now there is talk of sending away urine??

Is the head shaking allergy related? Or have you tried a physio/chiropractor etc? A horse at work was a chronic head shaker, we tried everything under the sun until this...turned out there was something wrong with her alanto-occipital joint. A few sessions and no more head shaking! Obviously may not work for every horse but it certainly did for her.

Yep allergy related unfortunately :(

could one of you that does this, or has used it please explaine EXACTLEY what happens, how you as the praticing person do anything with the samples... ie is it some sort of good omen/curse type thingy?

2nd question, providing you have had positive results, what has led you to belive it was a direct result of this?

3rd question... how much do you charge for doing the above?

Hi im a no nonsense kinda girl and I AM A BELIEVER!! Ok place i worked were big into it and i thought they where all barking (Large P2p yard) but it helped loads of horses and i've its helped people girl had really bad cut on arm and it healed without scar and really quickly, Drs couldnt believe it.
If you are going to use it you have to beleve in it.
Goodluck!

Ps, starting new eBay outfit selling little black boxes filled with piss and hair. Charge you a substantial sum and you can have it festering and smelling on your mantelpiece.

What would happen if you sent a sample of mane from a deceased horse. Would they be able tell straight away that the animal was no longer with us or would they try and cure it??

try it!!!

i'm going to write nonsense because my reply is too short lalalala

Tried it, as last minute desperate attempt to where conventional treatments failed.used the now deceased Mrs Dower.
I agree it sounds quirky, but I had exhausted all other options and was faced with a back problem causing the horse to be in alot of pain and probably having to be PTS. So, chopped off said bit of tail, posted to Mrs Dower, and a week or so later recieved some pills. Duly fed to said horse, who wouldn't have had a clue what the pills were meant to do. A month to 6 weeks later, said horse improved considerably and went onto lead a full and useful life.
Coincidence? Who knows, but I do know that nothing else had helped.
Would I use it again? yes, I would.

Oh dear I think I have entered a parallel universe

Have to confess when I first read the title I was thinking of the Black Box that go in planes and which reveal what went wrong when it crashes. Lol, I do love this forum :D

What a load of.

OP, if you have tried all the usual allergy relief and it has not worked, then how do you know it is allergies that's causing the head shaking? Maybe there is another reason as well as, or instead of allergies. Have you had back checked and re-checked? Does the horse only do it when ridden, is it worse when ridden, is it all the time, are you near to lots of pollen-y plants such as fields of oil seed rape? Does it happen more in the field than the stable? Does it happen more when riding outside or indoor school? Does it happen more in the day or at night (could be light related) When is it at it's worst? When is it at it's best? I really don't think that a box of piss and hair is the last resort here. I am pretty certain there will be other things you've not tried.

And as for giving pills to your horse that you don't know what they are, what they're for and they're not given to you by a vet. Are You Insane?????? flipping heck *head-desk*

It always makes me laugh that people try these crackpot methods as a 'last resort'. Surely if they were so brilliant at curing and healing you would use them first, before even seeing a vet?? No? Funny that....

I rest my case :-P

I have tried the " Black Box" I paid my £35, sent hair sample off , the lady rang me told me what I already knew, that he was not happy, seemed depressed and if I wanted to continue and help my horse I would have to pay more money to her.

I was not impressed at all.

I am very open minded and will give anything a go once, not this though.

This has been around for years, it suddenly re emerges, enjoys a vogue, and then quietly fades away. I remember a trainer, some 40 years ago, routinely sent hair samples, and unless the results were positive, the horse diddn't run! Strangely, she was quite successful, but then she had nice horses.

My ex employer the Olympic dressage rider Bar Hammond was a radionics practitioner. I know it all sounds very unbelievable and I wasn't convinced for a minute that it would actually work when I first found out about it but it does!

It's all very well sitting there taking the piss but it worked on me, I used to get very bad hay fever and the first summer I worked for Bar she treated me radionicaly (on the black box) and I didn't have any hay fever at all that year, or ever since. She treated her horses and she had lots of clients that she used to treat. She didn't charge people either!
A lot of top horsey people would ask her to treat their horses, Emile Faurie and William and Pippa Funnell to name a few.

I was very good at putting the hair between 2 bits of sticky label which was the 'witness' this went on the black box which had 3 rows of dials on. Bar had a massive book which listed everything you could imagine and the rates at which the dials needed to be set. You then set it up, plugged it in and pressed a green button, after about a minute the button would click off. That was 1 treatment, sometimes she would give up to 50 treatments for 1 thing.

I can see how it could have a placebo effect on people but how would a horse know it was being treated? She used to radionically give her old horses treatments for stiffness etc and you could really tell the difference.

erm I haven't said I am going to give random pills to my horse :S IF this is mentioned when I speak to black box lady I won't be doing it!

With regards to your other questions, I know it is allergy related because: does it seasonally, regardless of sunlight, worse on grass and near rape fields, back has been done 3 times this year, teeth twice in 6 months, saddle checked 3 times since bought 1year ago and have now bought a new one as not convinced old one was that great, tried moving yards from busy to quiet, tried living out 24/7. Vets have basically given up and said to live with it. So, YES it may sound insane to everyone else but I am going to try it. I will let you all know how I get on so you can laugh some more :D

But the horse ISN'T being treated! It's a bloody hair in a box... Not even attached to the horse in any way, so how on earth can it be treating it? Quite unbelieveable.

It's no different to crystal healing/hands on healers/psychic healing - we don't understand them but doesn't mean to say it doesn't work

I must admit, I also thought that :D

All very interesting though, so how much does this kinda thing cost?

I think this line taken from the website says all I need to know about the subject......

'Radionics does not substitute for veterinary care. Only a vet can diagnose an animals’ condition and determine most appropriate treatment'

OP

Have you tried putting your horse on some loratadine tablets (hay fever tablets but much better than your usual over the counter sort) or talked to your vet about this?

My dad had a catastophic stroke last year. He was in intensive care for 3 months. The doctors said he would probably never regain the use of his right side or his speech. The day he started talking again was only 2 days after my friend's horse sh@t in the back of an open-top convertible........coincidence???? or something more?........:D
