black or brown bridle for chestnut horse?

buying a new bridle and dunno what colour to get! he has a brown dressage saddle, and a black jump saddle so both colours to match! lol. old bridle was black, but am feeling like a change, will brown look good on a chestnut??

Brown. I had a black bridle on my chestnut and recently treated myself with a Havanna GFS. It looks so much smarter. Wouldn't have thought it would make much difference but it does!

I have a black bridle for my chestnut because her saddle is black. I think that it looks very nice as I like black tack anyway, however if she had a brown saddle I would get her a Stubben bridle in chocolate. It's a beautiful, rich colour.

I like brown, but have all black tack on my (very, VERY) orange horse, and it looks better than his brown bridle did Depends on the horse I think, but if you fancy a change, why not?

Brown looks much better than black, which looks a bit too harsh. Actually, I like a lighter brown on a chestnut as well.

Being old, i really dont like black tack.

Ha! Me neither and I'm only 26 Just too old school! Though when I was younger I wouldnt have brown tack (lord knows why!) I can remember having a screaming match at my father who was ordering a pony (chestnut incidentally, incidentally actually the old lad that went last year) a custom made bridle at the saddlers and he was insisting brown and I was insisting black! I won...the saddler still remembers this episode and brings it up occasionally at functions! I soon grew out of that and conceded that brown was much nicer and now I dont own any black tack for my horses at all (although that particular pony did remain in black until the day he died!)
