So have just ordered a 25kg sack of black sunflower seeds. So how much do to I need to feed for hoof improvement?

Have sneaky feeling my mother will raid said seeds for her birds, but will be interesting to see how long they last!

I would be interested to know where you got it from, i currently buy them from a pet stall on our local market for £1.30 for a small bag that lasts a week. Mine have been on one cup a day for 2 months and my mare's feet do seem better but couldn't say for sure though...maybe i need to up the intake. The horses seem to love them!

I feed a cup ful a day.

My guys get about a cupful a day - split into 2 feeds. They do seem to love them and I've found they work very nicely.

I feed them soaked along with my oats at the beginning of the winter, but once the stupid sub-zero temperatures come along I have to feed them dry as the water freezes into a solid block - yep I was caught out, Lol!

Don't know how you guys manage with BSS or soaked oats cos the birds round our way peck the hell out of what comes out the other end (no matter how long their soaked) and makes muck picking the fields three times as long!
Love to know your secret . . . .

Isn't that the idea?
I am feeding cheap oats rather than my usual turbo oats, specifically to get our jackdaws and rooks to peck the poos to pieces so they disappear faster and I don't need to poo pick!!!
