Wondering how many people wear brown boots during showing classes?
I love brown boots and own some lovely brown short boots and some smart matching gaitors, they are very dark brown. I do have some long black boots but there a little small on the calf side and i struggle to do them up to the top :o:o so i figured am best off using my brown ones for next Sundays showing class!
What color boots do you wear for everyday riding and showing?

Traditionally children on show ponies wore short brown boots. Adults wearing tweed would have been correct in long brown boots. Black were only worn with black/navy jackets. Not sure this is so strictly adhered to now and at lower levels you would be fine in short brown boots with matching gaiters.

Kids wear short oxblood boots.
Brown is incorrect in the show ring. Some pros carry it off, but you don't want to get noticed for the wrong reasons.

For me, it's similar to kids wearing red show jumping jackets. You look a a bit of a twonk IMO!

It's a bit like plaited tails.......they are strictly speaking "allowed" but they would get you noticed for the wrong reason. It looks IMO rather amateurish.

(Hope you don't think I'm being horribe - I'm just stating my experiences and having heard a lot from the ringside, and in the ring!)

And - I know Lynn Russell wears them (not on all her horses though) but when you're that well-known and are happy to be noticed for the right reasons I guess she can get away with it!

Thanks for clearing that one up :)

Looks like a squeeze into the black boots then!:eek:
