Just back from a lovely weekend in the caravan at Blackpool :D

LOL!!!

Arrived Weds night with the caravan. It pi$$ed down pretty much constantly since then. Showed the chi's yesterday and they were thoroughly miserable, tails down and shivering so pulled them from most of their classes and camped out in the caravan hoping to wait out the bad weather - wishful thinking!! Show was pretty much over by 2pm, everyone went home!!! Very sad but it was just miserable. Cars were waiting hours to be towed out of the car park yesterday (only one tractor for a field full of cars!!). We had to get a tow off the caravan site, as i expect everyone else did/will too. It was just knee deep mud. Everything is filthy, dogs have had a rubbish weekend. Glad to be home.

On a positive note - we won £20 in the Open Stakes! We were the only ones who turned up though :D lol!

The caravan site this morning, bootiful innit?

They announced the cancellation of Saturday / Sunday last night via Fossedata, their won website, FB, the dog press, and phoning around. :(. Very unfortunate for a hard working committee.

Yep, got cancelled yesterday. Disappointing as we only entered for the basenjis and they were due today but definately would have been impossible for people to get in and out of the car park. Shame as it was actually dry and sunny this morning when we left.

It's not raining now but it's windy and cold.

Sorry Blackpool couldn't have been more accommodating for you :(

It's been a miserable week here, but if you'd have been here last week....it was lovely then :o

Elton John had to finish his concert early as he was in danger of being blown off the sea wall

My mum and auntie were a bit miffed they've cancelled and aren't refunding entries because it's "an act of god" - hmm well prove there's a god to have caused the act! Lol.

Someone else we know has lost a lot of money due to their marquee being damaged and her stock got damaged etc

Shame it was cancelled, but we were showing on Friday and it was awful, I had mucker type boots on, and in the tent entrance the muddy puddles were splashing well over the top of them. This was at about 11.30, I'm sure it got much worse :-(

Crikey !!. Got national pastoral and working breeds in 2 weeks then Leeds champ , hope the weather improves , such a shame for all involved , my daughter was running Race for life yesterday and that was cancelled too , talk about summer time blues .
