I was there and yes the course was very muddy and as for the SJ rings. All credit to everyone at Blair for making the event go ahead. It is such a great venue.
It would have been nice to see a few more local riders tho, or even first timers, instead of just those that ended up 1st - 6th.
That mud tho...it was awful. We pulled up on Monday lunchtime to be told by the girls at the stable that it was touch or go...thank heavens the wind picked up and we had some sunshine later on in the week...someone was definitely looking down on us!!
At one point, Reg was doing his CIC*** test and when it came to his rein back, he couldn't suck his back legs out of the mud and just about sat down, I've never seen anything like it! Poor boy (the first 3 pics of my signature are Reg btw, lovely lovely boy, so proud as it was his first 3* and he went clear x.c.!)
