Don't let it get you down FJ - I reckon its been someone who is not aware you are married to the actual photographer and hasnt paid enough attention to your original post. Perhaps the individual thought they were doing MrFJ a favour protecting his property - although they should have paid more attention and I still think they are a butthole :D

The person who reported it obviously has no grasp of the English language! The fact that every picture had "Courtesy of....." means nothing to them obviously. <rollseyes>

Jen- check your email, I sent you a couple pics last night (with Mr FJ's permission of course... :rolleyes: )

Mr FJ- yes, as you cleverly pointed out, the wording on each and every photo was "courtesy of" not "copyright of".

Have had a response from mods saying it was reported by a forum user. :( So I do hope that it was someone not realising my link to Mr FJ, but there's a part of me now concerned that my photos/postings are not as well received by everyone on here as they are those who have posted on this thread. (thanks for the support by the way!)

Looks like the watermark will need to be changed to remove the website name though before I can repost them to prevent "advertising". Looks like Mr FJ now needs to provide 2 types of digi images for HHO-ers. One with "courtesy of Mr FigJam" on them and another with "courtesy of EPS" for use on FB etc.... best make sure not to get them muddled up or you'll either be in trouble with HHO Police or confuse family and friends who will ask "who the heck's Mr FigJam?!" :p
 
Yup. The address that's on your FB info page. :) Although from the message sent by mods, I'm afraid I'll need to get Mr FJ to redo them and I'll resend them as they've the "wrong" watermark for HHO button pushers! ;) They are fine to go on FB as they are though. :)

Had a good schooling session last night, so hoping it's a good sign and not lulling me into false sense of hope! ;) Best make sure I get permission to post some photos from Sun...! ;)
 


Hope you don't stop posting pics because of this! What a shame if some numpty with an itchy finger spoils it for everyone else... I love looking at your photos, even if I am a naughty lurker and don't comment! :o
 
I've just emailed you back - God it was horrible when I was riding wasn't it lol! Shall try to get a report done and see what mods come back with with the pics, at the end of the day it's no different from any other pro watermark so can't see the problem?

Miss H will be ace on Sunday, do you want to borrow my bling browband and channel that inner diva lol?xx

Sorry Guys, looks like there won't be any images for people to post on H&H because apparently even if I change the watermark to "Courtesy of Mr FJ" that won't be acceptable either because I'm a "Photographer for hire".

I would suggest that people could have a look on my facebook group, but that would probably be advertising so I won't do that.

Anyway.... have fun folks and remember whatever you do..... ride safe and don't post any pictures!

I do hope its not someone trying to start trouble - I like to see the good in people and do hope that this is an honest mistake someone has made
 
This whole load of nonsense has got me REALLY ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FJ I love your reports BECAUSE of all the fab pics that I know go with them, and MrFJ please PM me your fb group name and I will join it.

and to HHO Admin you are getting far too petty, and ruining the forum for all the users, not being allowed to post images bought and with permission because it may be deemed as advertising or infringing copyright law is a load of nonsense, I thought you had more common sense and were more in touch with your users than that, obviously not!

Take note of the reaction to your heavy handed approach, you are driving HHO members onto facebook where there is no petty removal of images or censoring of 'naughty words' so if they can manage it why can't you?.....

Bob thank you for the pics E sent through - can't believe I had that fence lol! I really fail to see the problem, someone has waaaay too much time on their paws running telling tales. Loads of people on this forum post pro pics with permission, and links to pro pics - your photos are probably posted in the most 'legal' manner! Think admin need to have a U turn on this one - at the end of the day they're your pictures and anyone posting has your permission to put them up. It was never a problem when you were 'just' Mr FigJam - but did anyone seriously think you were just a supportive husband taking snaps with the equipment you clearly have and the ace pics you get?

God some people are just beyond belief. And it seems to be one rule for one and all that on here - there are plenty of people who 'advertise' on here whether it be their websites or whatever, bet I could come up with about 20 external sites advertised on here without trying very hard...

No worries no offence taken, I know what you mean HHO Admin are totally reactive, they let slide company signatures, links in footers, pro pics emblazoned with water marks in sigs etc and yet they get one button pusher and they react with sledgehammer like tact and zero understanding of the situation
 
Thanks again for the support guys. Hevs- I hope you are right and it is a genuine error made by someone who didn't realise they were "my" (what's mine is mine and what's his is mine when you get married, innit?! :p ) photos to post.

Chloe- to be fair to admin, without the intervention of whoever "reported" the thread in the first place, nothing would have happened, so admin are only acting on information given to them. They have their T&C and so when a post is reported, have to act on that.

Given that I have permission to post the photos in an easy-to-view, user-friendly manner it's frustrating that this way is "illegal", yet I can "legally" post a link directly to the gallery on Mr FJ's website where the full range of pics are? (it's just nicer to open a thread and see the photos there already I think?)

Thanks again all, will get "updated" photos this evening if I can and try a version II! ;)
 
A compromise has been reached and HH have insisted that I change the watermark to this:

"Mr Figjam gave me this photo, What a nice guy!"


I suppose it'll have to do!

Either that or it was a Photographer not realising and trying to be helpful. (unlikely)

Only if they are wanting to post them on HHO though. Will still be fine on FB etc which (to be honest) is where most folk will put them. George/Jim- I think they are a great idea, so don't let this put you off! :)
 
to be honest I don't have my address on them anyway. I reckon, probably wrongly, that I've done enough at the event, or people already know who I am, anyway. I get a lot of traffic through the site immediately after any event, not just the ones I've been to which suggests people are checking on spec.

Do I have to change my name on here though :( :p
 
OMG, I can't believe the pics have been removed. We all love seeing your reports with pics - please don't let it put you off posting!

p.s. MrFJ I got my pics through from Strathallan and my pony looks ace (even if I don't!!) so thank you so much. :)
