Going Fri-Sun to watch, shop and of course: BBQ, booze and blether! :D

Mr FJ there on papping duties, although main focus will be the eventing, I think JenB was trying to bribe him with beer/burgers to snap at the SJ on the way to the XC course! ;)
 
Oh, pretty please if he happens to wander into the SJ rings let me know? His photos are amazing and I always buy loads from shows (shhh, don't tell OH!). Son is jumping GP or Accumulator in main ring on the Sat, just as a wee suggestion!

Come say hello if you spot us!
 
Neither, I have to say that the schedule was terrible for this year for the BS! After last year the shopping was not great so we were a bit dissapointed and are going to give it as miss!
 
Will need to figure out an easy way to identify previously-unmet-HHO-ers with a secret handshake or signal?! ;) Will def try and catch you if we can. (please tell son/SJ organisers not to clash his jumping times with HHO eventing ponies on the XC! :p ) :)

i will be up the thursday and the friday, just watching probably end up working on the show unit like has happened every other time i go to watch at events :(
 
We're going for the day on Saturday. OH got the first of the hunt ride outs on the Sunday so not able to stay all weekend. I shall be compensating by spending too much money when I'm there though, helped by the fact my mum's joining us for the day!! Credit cards ahoy!
 
Me but seeing as I am living on site for the summer it might be quite difficult to get away from it. I have the Thursday, Friday, Saturday off work but will probably be helping. And I get to watch the Showjumping on the Sunday from the Castle.
 
We are there fence judging, so excited as it'll be our first time at 3*!

However, OH and I are undecided as to when we are going. The briefing is Wed night, and I'd like to go Wed to Sun (though we are camping, so this would also be weather dependant). OH wants to go for the briefing then come home again....and go back up on fri.....he doesn't want to miss 2 days from work as he's self-employed.....need to look at what the drive is going to be....
 
I was just coming on to post this myself today! I'm going up to jump BSJA, think we're coming up first kick on the Friday morning - would prefer to go up Thursday night but beggars can't be choosers and I'm relying on a lift from YO so as long as I get there in time to jump on Friday not all that bothered! Think a meet up time/place would be a good plan, then not so bad for those who haven't met in RL yet (and for those like me who are blind as bats...) - any ideas guys?
 
Going up on Thursday with Reilly to do novice hunter and CHAPS non-native class, then back on the sunday for a spot of judging ;)
 
Right all, HHO BBQ, booze & blether on Friday night in the event campsite at the bright blue ancient Mercedes HGV horsebox. Total free for all, just bring sausages a bottle & a chair! :D

Nic/FJ keep me posted as to what time you decide for Friday night - I finish up at work on Friday so won't be on here much between Friday 5pm and Blair! You'll have to come visit B at the stables, FJ he's def grown since you saw him last I'm sure of it!
 
Anytime from 6pm? Stuff at the event should have finished by back of 5? I'm happy whenever. :)

JenB- bit tricky to make a meeting point/time as a) don't know where the landmarks will be as talk of changing the SJ rings/tradestands area etc around and b) everyone will be busy at various times doing different classes etc. ;)

However I will likely be mooching about on Friday in a navy/pale blue Almond RC polo shirt if sunny :cool: or bright pink waterproof Berghaus jacket if raining! (also may be easy to spot as will likely have funny looking bloke with mahooosive camera with me...! ;) )
 
if i'm allowed to tag along i vote for BBQ sat!

promise to bring something scrummy and some fruity cider or pimms lol :D
 
I defo can't do BBQ on the Saturday night cos will be at the rider/groom/general hanger on disco, forked out for the tickets now lol! Did you guys not all have a meet up on the XC course last year at some point? Nic will pm you my mobile, between you and FJ should manage not to miss much!
 
Ah the all important ice cream van! Sure we'll manage something, I'm determined to see a bit more of the XC this year. One of my buddies is running in the 1* so def have to got to see her as well as any of the HHOers - is Punk's fab pony running?
