Blair Roll Call - Competing or Spectating

I'm doing my (and Roy's) 1st CCI1* Soooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!!!

I've borrowed top hat and tails and pretty sure I will be mega embarassed in them (especially if I do a duff test lol!).

Not sure if I'll be up for much drinking depends on days and times for XC / SJ - think I'll be feeling sick enough without a hangover too ha ha ;)

I'll keep an eye out for where you're all meeting though and look out for the blue Meredes HGV!

Have fun everyone :)

Feel free to PM me you mobile no's as I get free texts. You do quite often get "network busy" at Blair but think texts should go through OK.

We're going down on Sat night to sleep in someones lorry and spectating Sunday, would have rathered Saturday but we're going to Thunder in the Glens motorbike rally @ Aviemore on the way down on the Sat to take part in the huge ride out which is much fun :) So I am riding something TO Blair, even if it is the 2 wheeled variety! Couldn't afford to compete in the 1* or the BS :(

What's the partying situation like on the Sat night?

The phone reception is spectacularly bad at Blair, especially on the Saturday - must get network overload! But texts usually (eventually) get through. Party wise on Saturday if you want to go to the disco it's ticket only, you get an application with your entry forms but can only get 4 tickets max (prob different story if you're an eventer though...). Think you can buy tickets at the horse trials office at the event but it's usually (read every year I've been) a sell out quite quickly - it is a cracking night though!

Me and Fuzz are heading up Thursday evening to Saturday. Going to support a friend in the NPS classes on Friday and then to finally see some cross country on Saturday. Our first ever time.

And we're tenting in the campsite. Lord I hope it's dry!

I'll do my best to say hi to anyone I see...but I'm not sure I'd recognise people. If you're feeling brave and see a girl with mad curly hair and a relatively big camera wandering around, feel free to come point yourself out :)

ME! I'm now competing!

Kalli's owner fell off at the weekend and isn't allowed to ride for a week or so, so I've been drafted in to ride! Intially I was just going as chauffeur.

We're doing Novice Working hunter (I think, suppose I'd better find out!) and I've ride Kalli eh..........twice in the last year. She's not easy at the best of times! Got an emergency lesson on her this evening. This will be fun.

The working hunter at Blair is supposed to be fantastic. I'm sure you'll love it :)

****VOSA are pulling lorries off at the check point just past Stirling at Craigforth and there is a police car sitting at Keir roundabout at Dunblane to catch anyone who doesn't pull in - there's also a VOSA van on the Carigforth flyover to identify them.*****

Bandits. Hope they bugger off before Thursday! Sherman lorry passed his plating on Saturday and, as we'll be a horseless 14t, hopefully they won't send us to the weighbridge.

*mutters VOSA directed obsceneties*
