It was a nightmare Friday with the crash, it was closed at 1.30 which we didnt know so we left Blair at 3.30ish. Sitting in the jam took 1.5 hours and we were some of the first to be directed onwards as they were reopening the road. That took another 30 mins... Glad there werent too many horse lorries/trailers at that time of day.

Case in point. The crashes in the Highlands seem to have become more frequent in the last four or five years. Either the A82 or A9 or both are pretty much closed somewhere every weekend during the summer.

What did everyone think of Blair this year?

I got home at lunchtime today, I've unpacked and done all the washing, it is definitely worth staying the extra night as you don't arrive home so tired.

I thought the member's marquee was much better this year, nicely set up and good food, the coffee machine was excellent too. The only thing missing was the TVs showing coverage inside, it wasn't a big problem as the weather was fine but had it been wet they would have been missed. It is my favourite event and I catch up with so many people I don't see very often which is lovely. I did a fair amount of shopping, I don't think there were amazing bargains but Joules buy two items and get the cheaper half price was good.

There was a good selection of big names competing so many obviously feel the long journey north is worthwhile.

I enjoyed Blair this year. The food options were really pretty good, a really big selection of shops, not tons of bargains but that's good for me as I didn't need anything.
Little niggly things like there not being a catalogue for the HiPos on Thursday, plus the tannoy not working there most of that day, then running orders not available in time for the cross country starting.
Plus the toilets were really pretty awful the first two days. Definitely improved on Saturday and Sunday.

I agree about the A9 being such a dreadful road, theres such massive detours if theres an accident. Very glad I dont ever use it other than for Blair normally!

Also agree, shopping wise I expected more deals but there werent any really that I saw, none that swayed me at all. I only bought one lead rope which had a big sign on it saying £7,50, then once Id paid by card I realised at home the receipt said £12.50! Ripped off!

Food options were definately better than last year - decent coffee. So much prettier having the little converted trailers etc. rather than the usual food outlets.

One thing I wished theyd do is stick alphabet stickers on the poles at the end of each car parking row! We took a while to find our car... Other improvement I thought of would be handy to have a digital display at the front of the judges caravans for the BS, a few times we stopped by to watch and I had no idea what class it was which is a bit irritating so be good if it was displayed there!
