I will be blanket clipping my mare but......
What do people do around their bums, seen some that go up to top of tail, others that stop on legs, other that do inside of tops of legs.

Views? I'm thinking I will take off top of inside of back legs as she is getting sweaty there.

Tea and Cadbury fruit and nut on offer :D

I did my own made up clip on both of mine. Horse B has a straight line down from withers to leg, and everything off forwards of that with a half face. Only did it today so will wait and see how it works. When you do a blanket clip how do you get a straight line going up and around?

I go up to the top of a tail...well...I always plan to but usually my blanket clips become full clips :o

Haha, same! My lines get slightly higher... Just to straighten or even up
Until the whole lot comes off! This year I'm determined to stick as a chaser or similar little clip as it's supposed to be a chilly winter and my horse is in light work.
Wish me luck!

Lol, that's what I do too!

I'm getting someone in to clip my boy this year, he doesn't need a full clip so will get either a blanket or trace, once it's been done once I'm hoping I'll be able to re-clip following the lines for the rest of winter!

I'm trying for a blanket clip, at least till February when she will have a full clip so that her summer coat comes through even.
Lines just take practice, or chalk!
How deep should it be? As deep as saddle?

I've blanket clipped my conne, sit your saddle on and clip to the front and bottom of the saddle flap. I've gone up either side of his tail and I also clip from his elbows straight down the back of his front leg to the chestnut then up the inside front to join the line over his front legs as I find he gets so sweaty there. On his poll I clip a small vee up the back of his ears too, to avoid sweaty ears, and do a half face.
