Question is really regarding horse falls going XC. I am aware that a horse is compulsory eliminated after a horse fall but what are the rules regarding continuing with the course?

Reason I ask is yesterday (whilst eating my lunch!) I saw Georgie Spence and Running Brook II have a fall at the george sumacher fence (number 21 i think

). It was clear to me that it was a horse fall as the horse skidded down the hill on its side but georgie caught him at the bottom of the hill, immediately remounted and continued on the course. At no point was she stopped by the stewards but it was announced that she had been elimintaed due to a horse fall. I didn't see her check running brrok II over before she remounted and was a bit shocked that she just hopped back on

So could someone fill me in on what is the correct procedure with a horse fall or was that it?!

Shoulder and quarters must touch the ground at the same time to be classified as a horse fall I think

Or could just be either shoulders or quarters

The stewards should have stopped her if the point of the hip and the shoulder touched the ground at the same time.
Adrenaline is a funny thing, she may not have realised it was an HF and if the fence judge didnt tell her it was, she probs assumed it would be fine to carry on.

Oh it was def horse fall - but she wasnt pulled up - although it was announced over the tannoy a few fences later...

Boss - thats what I thought, although after the Amy Tyron outrage I would have thought she may be more hesitant!

Oh boy this is a big question for me at the moment.

Did anyone see in the pre Burghley H&H the pics of W F-P's horse falling at Blair at the table now if that wasn't a horse fall I don't know what is the pics clearly show the horses shoulder and hindquaters on the ground but William didn't come off so picked the horse up and went on the win. Now my issue is not with his amazing riding skill but with the fact that I got elemiated at the PN champs when my horse tripped over the log on the top of a bank and went down on his knees, the fence judge was sure that, and it can only have been the point of his shoulder, had touched the floor but I don't see how is was possible as by the time I was looking up from the ground he was trotting off.
And she would not even discuss the possablity of him not having fallen, when I spoke to the steward later he said that fence judges are ment to side with the rider in those instances....any comments??
