I've been away for a while, but have just read the H&H website news that people have to apply in writing & send back tickets to get a refund. *Grumbles*

I rec'd an email from Blenheim admin last week saying that internet bookings would automatically be refunded.

I suppose I'll just have to wait & watch my bank statement now. Does anyone else know what happens now?

I had the same thing - had an email saying we would automatically be refunded but checked the Blenheim website the other day and now they're saying that their insurance company are saying that anyone wanting a refund will need to write to them (and sent them the tickets). Just hope I can still find mine

If that's the case I shall send them a copy of that email & also be claiming extra money for the paper/envelope/postage and time incurred!

I guess they hope people won't bother, but I remember seeing my unused ticket lying in the boot of my car when I got back from the airport yesterday.

OMG I think I threw out the tickets after I got the email saying it would be automatic.
Will have to go hunt now.

They are a complete joke

. I will never, ever go back there.

I phoned their customer services line this morning to check, as I had an email saying we would automatically be refunded as we bought on line. Apparently, it is their insurers saying tickets must be returned, but the girls in the office had no idea how long this may take either, they haven't started yet and imagine there will be loads!! I'm sending a covering letter and tickets by recorded delivery later today.

I had to do exactly the same when the CLA game fair was cancelled last year, they needed the tickets for their insurance or something, but they did refund quite quickly.

Hope all goes well for you all.

It's all very well 'blaming' the insurance company and saying it is THEM that are insisting on the tickets but really the organisers should have checked the terms of their cover before sending out the e-mail confirmation?

If I was missing out on a refund having thrown my tickets away on the basis I had been told by the organisers I would receive an automatic refund I would be pretty cross!!!

That's a shame. It is usually a really good event - honest! I've been going there for about 14 years and have never had any problems - well apart from the one year they double-booked our seats on the Sunday so we could't leave them.

Precisely. Blenheim keep a database of ticket applicants, so the insurance company must be able to double-check bookings through that!

I'll be well peed off if they use that excuse, then email me with an early bird booking offer next year.

...I'm not really concerned about the loss, so long as the event goes ahead next year. It's just the principle of the thing & one of those things that happens.
